From test facility to construction site

A reliable façade construction starts with a sound design, but its actual performance is only truly demonstrated through practical testing. IBS Consultants therefore carries out professional pull-out tests to verify the strength and safety of fixings, anchors, and façade structures. Depending on the project requirements, pull-out tests are performed in our own test facility, on the construction site, or at the manufacturer’s production facility. The test results are assessed against applicable standards, product specifications, and structural calculations. In this way, IBS makes an important contribution to the quality assurance of façade constructions and supports compliance with the requirements arising from the Dutch Quality Assurance Act for Construction (Wet kwaliteitsborging voor het bouwen – Wkb).

Testing at our in-house test facility

In IBS’s own test facility, pull-out tests can be performed under controlled conditions. This makes it possible to accurately test and compare various fixing systems, anchors, and materials. The controlled testing environment ensures that the measurement results are reproducible and reliable.

Pull-out tests on site

In addition to laboratory testing, IBS also performs pull-out tests on existing and newly constructed buildings. These tests assess the actual site conditions, taking into account the properties of the substrate, installation quality, and the completed construction.

These practical tests are applied, among other things, for:
• quality control during
• constructionassessment of existing fixings;
• inspection of renovation and repair works;
• verification of anchors in concrete, masonry, or steel;

By comparing the test results with the design assumptions, it can be determined whether the construction complies with the applicable safety requirements.

IBS also performs pull-out tests at the facilities of manufacturers and suppliers of façade systems and fixing components. During these tests, products are assessed under representative production conditions, enabling the performance of the product to be validated before it is applied in a project.
